Creating your model

Use the Create Model form (model > Faults > Create Model) to create a new, empty fault model. As with all other forms in this workflow, you can set the active fault model in this step.

To create a fault model

  1. On the Create Model form, select Create new in the Model drop-down list.
  2. Type a name for the model in the text field below.
  3. Click Apply to create the fault model and keep the Create Model form open, or click OK to create the fault model and proceed to the Set Modeling Parameters form. The new, empty, fault model can be found in the JewelExplorer under the main Fault Models folder, with the name you provided. This model becomes the default selection for all other actions in the Fault Modeling workflow and other related activities.

To change the active fault model

  1. On the Create Model form, select the fault model of interest in the Model drop-down box.
  2. Click Apply or OK to confirm the new active fault model. Clicking Apply will keep the Create Model form open, clicking OK will close the form and open the Set Modeling Parameters. The selected model becomes the default selection for all other actions in the fault modeling workflow and other related activities.
